Thanasis joins us

The team of Athens Kickers gladly announces that Thanasis Vlassopoulos is the new member of our team. Thanasis is the father of our last transfer Giannis Vlassopoulos and this season was till now with no club. The previous season he was a player of Highlanders Haidari.Thanasis will make his first appearance with the club this weekend in the Greek Team Championship and the next one in Berlin.

GP BRUSSELS

The first travel abroad for the season 2008-09 took place in the Brussels GP the weekend 8-9 of November.
The Athens Kickers team (Aggelos Tsakiris, Giorgos Aggelinas, Marcos Kapsabelis,Fotis Labi) didn’t manage to qualify from a hard group. We lost 0-2 against Delft and 0-3 against Stella Artois Milano and we finished third on a group of 4 (we beat Brussels ‘C’ 3-0).
On the individuals Giorgos WAS GREAT. He played in the veterans and he managed to reach the semis. 5 straight wins (one in sudden death in the quarter finals against Manganello) sealed a place in the semis. Then he lost against the world champion Martin Bom 0-2.
Aggelos and Marcos also played in the veterans. Marcos lost in the barrage game against Nico Marks on shots and Aggelos in the last 16 on shots against Martin Bom.
Fotis played in the open. He was qualified from the groups and lost in the last 32 against Roufosse 1-5.

Satellite of Pireaus

Sunday 2nd of November we had the first satellite tournament in Greece for the running season. The Athens Kickers team (Fotis Labi, Aggelos Tsakiris, Giorgos Aggelinas, Marcos Kapsabelis and Argyris Poulidis), won their group against AEK and Roligans “B”. In the semifinal we lost on goals after a final score 2-2 against Atlas.
In the Veterans Giorgos Aggelinas reached the final but he was very unlucky and lost 1-2 .
In the U15 Manos Kapsabelis reached the semi final. At the same time Tasos Maroulas stayed in the barrage stage.In the Open Argyris Poulidis was our best player on the day. He reached the last eight. Marcos Kapsabelis stopped at the last 16,Fotis Labi stopped at barrage round and Diamantis Labi didn’t manage to qualify from the group.
